Mischel Kwon Joins RSA's Worldwide Professional Services Unit

Director for the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Named Vice President of Public Sector Security Solutions of EMC's Security Division. RSA, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE: EMC) today announced that Mischel Kwon will join RSA's Worldwide Professional Services unit as Vice President of Public Sector Security Solutions. Ms. Kwon is the outgoing Director of the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) at the Department of Homeland Security. At RSA, she will be helping to lead RSA's Security Consulting Services practice, engaging with public and private sector customers and global organizations that are required to maintain and protect critical infrastructures.

As the Director for the US-CERT, Kwon led the organization charged with analyzing and reducing cyber threats and vulnerabilities in federal networks, disseminating cyber threat warning information and coordinating national incident response activities.

"Mischel is a unique talent with experience in defining policy and establishing governance as well as designing, implementing and managing some of the most mission critical IT infrastructures in the world. Her addition to the RSA Professional Services organization will advance our consultative approach to information risk management and deliver material benefit to public and private sector partners and customers that are challenged with the growing cyber security threat."

Kwon brings more than 27 years of IT experience to RSA, with expertise and leadership in the design, implementation and management of critical IT infrastructure and security operations programs at organizations such as the U.S. Department of Justice and United States Holocaust Museum. Since 2006, she has served as Adjunct Professor of Cyber Defense and leads the Cyber Defense Lab at George Washington University.

As Vice President of Public Sector Security Solutions at RSA, Mischel will advise organizations seeking strategic technical and policy assistance in building, defending, identifying, and remediating their critical infrastructures against cyber threats, attacks and vulnerabilities. She will also use her technical expertise to help develop the strategy and direction for RSA's products and security solutions.

Kwon will join RSA in early September 2009.
